Base Camp Team Shot
Base Camp Regroup
7 May 2005
Rather than operating as two groups all Adventure Consultants climbers are now on the same climbing schedule. Today was about regrouping, making plans and making sure all members are on the same team page.
Rachel and Kat conducted a scientific survey on the physical prowess of all male members. An outdoors changing room for the shower cubicle offered excellent sampling. Unfortunately, the two female judges would not divulge their ratings but I understand Piers scored highly. (Bearing in mind the fragile nature of the male ego not divulging ratings was probably a good idea).
A chopper finally arrived this morning to cart off the wounded from the camp 1 avalanche. Base camp is unusually full as few are higher up the mountain because of bad weather. All stopped everything to witness the spectacle from the largest rock available, wondering whether they would be leaving dead, wounded, failure or success. (Poetic license Rob Hart! Everyone is telling me that my strictly factual accounts are far too boring).
Right now the beers are flowing as it is Brendon's farewell night. Tomorrow Brendon will begin the journey back to his family.
