Kathmandu Team Meeting -“the mountain will always be there, just make sure you are too”
31 March 2005    GPS-pos: °' | °' | Alt: 0 M
Finally everyone was in Kathmandu ready for the expedition, in addition to the climbers there was some friends and family coming along to support their mates and see what all this hullabalu was all about. As they will discover it is mostly hype with a couple of days of hard grind. Some would accompany us to Everest BC in 4WD vehicles whilst a few would trek to ABC 6,400m, there is even a couple who would attempt the North Col of Everest at 7,050m.
Russell kicked off the proceedings with firm commitment to a SAFE expedition, he and all the guides believe the most important thing is to come back alive and if that is looking doubtful then it is better NOT to climb, “the mountain will always be there, just make sure you are too”.
