Yaks on way – Clearing the mountain of equipment
June 2nd 2005    GPS-pos: °' | °' | Alt: 0 M
Our Yaks arrive tomorrow the 3rd of June, we walk to BC on the 4th and hopefully with luck will get right through to Kathmandu on the 5th of June!!! Hooray.
Today Suhki is heading down from 7700m camp two to ABC, Sherpas Oungchu and Temba are totally clearing 7700m and Dawa is removing the North Col camp one with Jamie. Suhki did very well considering this was her first 8000m peak and she joined an English speaking group of westerners armed only with Hindi. A tough task, but for 2.5 months she has done very well. She has also picked one of the most disturbed weather seasons on record for Everest. We wish her luck for next year if she returns.
Moe, Duncan and Julian are relaxing in ABC, enjoying the slightly warmer end of season weather. Jamie, Suhki and three of the Sherpas should be back down for dinner.

Last Summit Push
This only leaves Paul Boslooper and Namgyl, (Paul is a mountain guide from Netherlands), left on the mountain they are on a different visa to the rest of us and can stay longer. They are moving up to 7900m camp today, before moving back to high camp again!! The following day the 3rd. This puts them in place for a summit attempt on the 4th which according to nearly ALL the weather forecasts is going to be a GREAT DAY OUT!!! So let's hope that’s works for them. They will descend to a barrel of trekking boots and clothes, two porters and a walk to BC from ABC for their waiting jeep. We will completely withdraw ABC and BC, as they don’t want any further support from now on. This is a fairly bold move but Paul is fairly cautious in the hills and will need to leave enough energy to get back to BC and the jeeps from the summit. We wish them well and will only be able to update their progress until the 4th of June
