Sept. 7 - ABC
Hello once again from ABC.
Another relaxing day here. Same wonderful music, food, and books. It is a birthday day so that’s made it a bit unique. Gopal is working on a cake for Paul’s bday tonight and it certainly smells like it’s going to be good. We have some nice candles (not as many as we really need) and we may pull out a bottle of red for a little taster. Not much though since tomorrow we’re off for our first night above ABC.
Kami and Tsering carried loads up to CII today while our Tibetan kitchen boy, Lhakchung, took a load up to CI. We’re waiting for Kami and Tsering to arrive back here at ABC before we start dinner. It was a spectacular day today- the most sun and clearest sky- we’ve had since arriving in ABC. An hour ago clouds did form on the summit above 8000 m. and we may be in for some slightly increasing winds up high. Many expeditions arrived today and there was nearly a constant stream of yaks passing our tents throughout the afternoon. We’ve pretty much lost count of how many are here now and each day should bring more.
I believe the other photos are fixed now and viewable from previous days so please look back (you can also enlarge by clicking on the photo if you haven’t done that).
Well, we’re off for Paul’s dinner celebration- we’ll talk to you from CI.
All the best,
Dave and the team

Sept. 6- ABC
It’s 4 pm Nepal time and we’re sitting here under the warm, bright sun. We had a colorful puja this morning complete with prayers of good luck & safety, tsampa, smiles and cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon.
