Sept 21 Return to Camp II

Hello everyone, this is Dave calling in one more time to give another update on September 21st. We are now down to Camp II, everyone is in their tent, snuggled up. Everyone is safe and sound after a spectacular day today.

It started out a little bit marginal, not much visibility, some high winds and then luckily we were treated to a few glimpses of Everest off to the east. When you get to the true summit of Cho Oyu you can see Everest off to the east and the clouds parted a few times, long enough to see Everest, Lhotse and Pumori but very briefly, I don’t even know if we got any good photos. It was a quite a bit of wind up top but certainly do-able summit day and we ended up having a beautiful one.

Everybody did great and looking forward to a good night sleep here at Camp II. We are really looking forward to getting down to ABC and getting there in the early afternoon time tomorrow and having a nice, good meal from Gopal and some wine and some spirits. So that’s all from Camp II and when we get back down to ABC, assuming everything is working, we will send over some photos from our summit bid.

So Congratulations to all these guys. And that’s all from Camp II.

Have a good day – all the best,
Dave and the Team
