Down at Base Camp Now
July 19th,2004
We had decided that considering the current conditions, the high winds, our limited time now and Karens condition it would be best to go on down to base camp and back to Osh and Bishkek now. A great effort by all to get up to where we did and as far as we have in the tough conditions. Were in Base Camp now and have changed our ride back to Osh for tomorrow.
Its been a very good trip into the Pamirs of Kyrgyzstan, no summit this trip but considering the deep snow and bad weather we feel good about our high point. Now its back to Bishkek and then onto Khan Tengri in Kazahkstan.
Thanks for following all our reports on our Peak Lenin Expedition. Check out the Khan Tengri Expedition Reports starting July 25th, 2004.
Scott Woolums reporting from Peak Lenin Base Camp.
