Question - "What does having a dream mean to you?"
Answer - "A dream is a goal glimmering in the distance; it is an inner calling which, when accomplished,
serves as the rite of passage into wisdom." Erden Eruç - Sep 17, 2004

[ORS MAP] link on the top right should be working now. You can check my location there.

I woke up with Bam Island at 9 nm to my southwest. This is an active volcano with its perfect cone shape. People live on its edges. It is one of the Schouten Islands.

It has been one deluge after another the whole day, bringing mostly westerly rain squalls. Visibility came down to 200 meters often while ships passed nearby! As I write this in the late afternoon, the rain has finally stopped and I am drying a bit.

Madang is only 93 nm from here. I have to go through the Isumrud Strait between Cape Croiselles and the Karkar Island to its northwest. I turn south at the Cape and Madang is due south from there.

I took some pain medication ahead of time. I will have to put in long hours two nights in a row to make that southing into the Isumrud Strait. Otherwise I will have to continue on to the Vitiaz Strait. Dreger Harbor is another 150 nm further down the coast.

    Erden.
