Are you sitting Comfortably?
17th May 2005
As final packing, or should that be panicking? Goes on, I came across these items buried underneath the pile of kit that currently occupies the spare room. Sorry Mum.

1 x Gel Pad Seat and 1 x Deluxe Seat Pad. Who would have thought so much pain could be caused by two such innocent looking items. I seem to remember our bums going flat in 2002 and that was after 21 days, approximately 250 hours of rowing (sitting down). Based on our aim of a 45 day crossing and taking into account our shift pattern of 2 hours on 2 hours off 24 hours a day 7 days a week, I calculate that we will spend approximately 540 hours sat on these pads. Put like that it doesn’t sound so bad does it?

Well here's to a safe and comfortable crossing.

Message for crew members, Steve, Nigel and George; I hope you got yourselves a seat pad each? These two have got my name on.

Yours Aye

The Crew
