Still Smokin'
22 Oct, 04 - 18:43
Well it's us again. Our mentality has been reduced to competing for the best numbers on the pulse/oximeter. We usually just make something up to impress eachother.
Today we acclimatized to 17,000 feet, dropped some gear, and found ourselves again in the warm embrace of the Snow Lion tea house. We are eating well and dedicating an appropriate amount of time to chess and card games.
For the next two days the group will be divided as such: Team 2 Cool 4 School- Mike, Teddy, Doug and Bill; and Team 1 Brain for 4- Willie, John, Fernando and Ryan. The teams will be on the opposite sides of Mt. Pokalde, each with different climbing goals, to be reported upon as we go. With any luck three-person tents will also serve as four-people-spooning tents.
And for now, the clouds roll in, the sunset glows on Lhotse and the puppy takes turns on our laps. Life is good!
