Questions to the researchers
20050909
Hi!
Have a question about arctic land invertebrates for one of Your researchers!
In august I participated in the field excursion week at Abisko Research Station of the course Arctic Ecology at Luleć University. Now we just have finished the reading of our litterature and made a written test waiting for results. The last part is a little project task we are now writing on our field week material. We are supposed to read and analyse, give critical suggestions on the projects of the different groups.
Now, in my project field part done with a young lady from Massachusets and a couple from Uppsala (SLU), about BIODIVERSITY AND PRODUCTIVITY OF INVERTEBRATES IN TAIGA VERSUS TUNDRA IŽd like to refer to some of Your work at Oden/Healey, if possible.
So, question 1; Is there any part of Your projects looking at invertebrates in this region in a broad ecological view?
Question 2; can I send You a excell file showing our small findings and a word file with texts about the task and get comments?
Question3; actually the main question, after having read through all studies on invertebrates in our context done at Abisko Research Station, I found nearly only taxanomic works or studies with a very narrow focus on one little group or even species of invertebrate, nothing with broad ecological perspectives, not even the climat changing factor! Is that true? No possibility to find scientific statements on productivity, diversity, interaction of invertebrates in the tundra and taiga regions compared? Where did I fail?
My tutor is Stefan Andersson at LTU biologyteaxhers education in luleć and he will get my paper during the day of 9/9. But for the discussions I would be very happy for Your comments on these questions!
Friendly, Yours
