Expedition has started!
7 March, 2006    83.3167N,74.1167W

Arrived to Ward Hunt Island on the afternoon of the 4th March and carried the equipment and dog food for another expedition to the hut used by Ranulph Fiennes on his North Pole attempt. The next day on the 5th March we dragged one sledge 6 miles North through very difficult pack ice in –40º below centigrade - we arrived back to the hut after a 10-hour day. The 6th March we carried the second sledge to the 6-mile point. On the way we passed a Finnish group of seven who were following our first day’s tracks. We are trying to adapt to the conditions of –40ºC and pacing ourselves through this early difficult terrain. All is well with the expedition.
