Back in Base Camp

Today the final move by the members took place this morning. We are all back in Base Camp and glad to be here. Everyone made it safely through the ice fall. Today we woke up in Camp 2 to a light snow and overcast. This helped make the icefall safe for the descent.

The sherpas moved the entire load from Camp 2 to Camp 1 so that early tomorrow morning they can make a quick run to Camp 1 and bring down the last of the gear. We will begin packing and get things ready for yaks to start down on the 6th June to Pangboche where we plan to have a big party with all the staff members.

The communication tent will come down in the morning so dispatches will be sporadic as we head to Kathmandu (KTM). We hope to arrive in KTM on the morning of the 9th June and most of the team is booked to begin their homeward journey on 10th June 2005.

We will update you when we can from now on.

Everyone is safe and looking forward to returning home soon.

Jim Williams
