Rest Day at Camp 1

Today we spent the day lounging around trying to recuperate after our trip through he icefall yesterday. It took more out of everyone than they imagined yesterday .

Camp 1 is located at the mouth of the Western Cmw - a long valley leading up to Camp 2. Our Camp1 is at an elevation of 6064meters or19,890feet. The from our camp we can see several big mountains including Pumori, Nuptse and Lhotse but not Mt. Everest. Tomorrow we will get our first real view of the mountain we have come to climb.

The picture is taken from inside my tent as I am cooking dinner for everyone and the sun is setting behind Pumori.

JMW
