Condolences
?We come to climb on Mt. Everest but only occasionally the ?Mother Goddess of the Earth? grants us the permission needed to take the opportunity to stand upon her summit.?
As I sit here in Base Camp and watch the slow winding procession of torch lights as Sherpas and others bringing down the body of an unknown climber who died in the ice fall I am reminded of how fragile we really are here in these big mountains. This most recent death adds to a total of four or more who have perished in their own personal pursuits high in these mountains. The Exploradus team sends its most heart felt support and best wishes to the families and friends of all of those who have taken rest here in the shadows of Mt. Everest. Their strength, determination and sacrifice will help guide us all on our quest to climb to the summit of this majestic mountain.
