Off in the Morning
14 May 2005
Off in the Morning
Today is one of those strange days with lots to do and yet nothing really important is on the agenda. This morning after a leisurely breakfast we enjoyed a beautiful violin concert preformed by a Czech doctor ? fantastic. Vern Tejas from AAI had enough wind to blow a few tunes on his harmonica ? quite a feat at 17,000 feet!!!
The rest of the day was spent getting gear ready for the summit push. Yes we are leaving on Sunday the 15th May 2005 for Camp 2 and then on to the summit later in the week if the weather permits.
The crystal ball of weather forecasting is beginning to show a possible decrease in the weather later in the week that we are hoping to take advantage of if possible to get the entire team to the summit around the 20 -22 May 2005.
We will keep you posted daily as we move up the mountain. On summit night and day Trixie will file dispatches throughout the summit push so that you can have a blow by blow account.
Stay with us,
Jim Williams
