Well, after 95 miles in 4 days, I definately needed a zero day. It was wonderful, but I'm striking out again today. I'll be in Damascus in a few days - really looking forward to the rolling hills of Virginia. Hopefully I can make it there w/o being struck by lightning - weather says there's going to be a lot of thunderstorms for the next week - sweet! 25+ mile day...I'm pretty tired. the Smokies were beautiful and I'm sad to leave them, but the terrain today was wonderful, and I almost hiked a marathon, but Hot Springs is worth it - good f

There are no words for this; I'm at 6600ft on top of the Appalachian Trail. I wouldn't trade this for any beach or other spring break trip. The Smokies are unbelievable; and people weren't

Well, I'm only 3 miles from my 3rd state - I hope Tennessee isn't as windy as NC; yesterday it snowed sideways, and todayI got hit by a flying leaf... and it hurt. haha. Well at least its warm
