Well, I finally have a little blue sky and sunshine above me. Seems like it's been ages since I've been dry; I was beginning to think that I'd gotten really lost and ended up in Eastern Asia during monsoon season. I can't express how discouraging it is to wake up every morning, put on wet clothes, and hike all day in the rain. Its not a whole lot if fun. And if the rain alone wasn't enough, two days ago the temperature plummeted, turning the rain into snow, of course, and the wind howled day and night. Lucky for me this wintry weather came just after all my cold weather gear got mailed home. Two nights ago it got down in the 20s... and I've just got my 40 degree bag... I was very unhappy... to say the least. When the deluge takes a break and sun does decide to come out, though, its been beautiful. The redbuds and dogwoods are spectacular, and I'll be in the Shenandoas tomorrow. I just hope May's got some more pleasant weather for me.
