New Hampshire! Only two states and almost 400 miles left. I'll admit it, I am very glad to be out of Vermont. I haven't seen the sun since we got into that state, and today it popped out for the first time in New Hampshire. A week of rain just makes the trail wonderful - my gear's soaked constantly and my boots are about as muddy as it gets. Its okay though, we're only about 20 miles shy of hitting the White Mountains. The weather report says the high's in the 40's and its going to be reeaally chilly at night. I've got most of my winter gear back, but its going to be nuts hiking in the middle of June and freezing. I'm really looking forward to the whites though - its going to be one of the hardest sections of the trip, but I'm sure its going to be amazing. I lost my data book about 300 miles back, so I really have no idea what's going to happen until it does, but I did steal a glance at some of the climbs in the Whites and woah... we've got a 4000' climb coming up over 5ish miles. No matter how many months I've been hiking, thats going to be crazy. I'll probably keel over half way up. Well, its crazy because Katahdin now actually seems attainable - I'll be in Maine in a week or so, and two weeks after that... it'll all be over. With June finally came some Mississippi style weather... and unfortunately some bugs that put Mississippi mosquitos to shame. Its been in the 80s the past few days, which really isn't that bad, bu

My dad showed up here in Kent a few days ago on May 31st, and I took a well deserved hiatus to good food, dry clothes, indoor heating, and a very soft bed, not to mention that I finally gave the ole&#
