Pretty much the same program today. Woke up to a sunny, cold morning, had our "bed tea" and washing water before breakfast.

Our hike today went just up. We went just over 2,000 vertical feet (to 16,300') in 2-1/2 hours (including a break). At that point, George offered us the choice of going on to 17,000' or heading down from there. We'd reached our minimum training goal. I was feeling good acclimatization-wise, but a bit leg weary from overdoing it on the trek up. So I opted to go down. Scott decided to do the same. The rest of the team went on up to 17.

After dinner tonight the trekking staff (we have a different staff assisting us on the mountain) surprised us with a cake and a note wishing us well on Ama Dablam.

Nice touch for our final night on the trek. Tomorrow we move to base camp and begin to shift gears.
