DAY120

4 months or 1/3 of a year at sea!

Pleasure to see the back of past 24hrs;

SSW-WNW force 8 occasionally F9 (FYI- force 12= hurricane F 1= sea like a mirror ) so pretty lively.

At dusk the rudder cable broke (f#$$%$$#@@$^^&*!#) - 6 hours faffing about in the dark & heaving sea saw a fairly unsatisfactory makeshift steering system in place. - this will worsen our already circuitous course...

For anyone who has ever hung a rudder you will know that on dry land it is a fiddle, on calm water tricky, - so picture hanging out of the stern hatch, 15ft waves crashing about, 2300 pitch dark wielding a heavy, cumbersome 4ft rudder trying to fit it onto its 3 pins... Trying, you could say... Still no broken bones & after a 45min struggle by good fortune it dropped on.

Too wet & cold for sleep row till 3 before couple of hrs zzz in survival blanket. Up for dawn & on on, weather much finer for now...

Not over till the fat lass sings!
