Mac or Windows?

Apple's new OSX suffers major problems when connecting to Sat phones. You will have to use the older OS 9. But even that won't solve your problems either.

ExplorersWeb has connected both an Iridium and a Thuraya to a Mac, but the connection is unstable and the communication settings are often lost. At the present, we do not recommend Mac to expeditions.

With XP, Microsoft has taken the lead. It seldom crashes and installations of satellite phone dial-up connections are simple.

Forget Linux unless you are a Linux geek. Forget it even if you are. Focus on the mountain instead.
