CONTACT 2.0 was launched in February 2003, derived from high-tech expeditions to Everest, and to the North and South Poles. To date, CONTACT 2.0 has been used by more than 50 high-end expeditions, with the number increasing each month.
In May 2004, CONTACT 2.0 was upgraded to version 3.0. The new edition features advanced support for image, sound and video uploads as well as a supplementary interface that can be used from any internet cafe around the world. Version 4.0 was introduced in Feb 2005 with the introduction of a one page viewer experience and zoomable maps with expedition postions. The concept of CONTACT is simple: Tell your story straight from the adventure to the internet. The developing team consists of Everest climbers, Polar skiers and ocean sailors, who understand the true importance of lightweight and easy tech that works. |
