Island Peak update
25 October 2004
Hello, this is the Island Peakers, 25 October 2004.
Wow, what a great day! We had the full national geographic special event when we came upon a herd of fighting yaks, with the two biggest going head to head for at least half an hour, lots of great pictures taken.
Again everyone is well, although quite tired after the climb up to the village of Lobuche. Tomorrow we hope for a cloudless sky for our ascent of Kala Patar, with its amazing views. Until tomorrow, this is Steve signing off for the Island Peakers. Goodnight!

..and Steve by phone reporting in the day prior...
This is the Island Peakers, 24 October 2004. After a teary farewell to the Ama Dablam team, our wee group of six dropped back down into the valley for a pleasant walk up to Dingboche. With the night distinctly getting cooler up here we're all sitting around a roaring fire awaiting dinner, at the Mountain Paradise lodge at 4360m. Everyone's fine and well and in good spirits. So bye for now, catch you all tomorrow from Cheryl, Colin, Diane, Kelly, Andrea and Steve.
